Leslie L Wilson
Ms. Wilson is a global thinker, creative problem-solver, and rapid decision-maker under pressure with broad emergency management (response and recovery) and communications skills.
Since May 2022, she has been serving in Ukraine as a pro bono consultant and frequent volunteer with Ukrainian NGOs. As the founder of Resilient Village Ukraine, she engages Ukrainians in research and development projects, introducing international innovations to help vulnerable populations. She now lives and works in Bucha with occasional projects in Kharkiv, and in 2025, the Donbas (Sloviansk and Kramatorsk) when the work pivoted to military personnel and veterans. Her current focus is introducing and donating EkoPich: a ceramic-core, J-Tube design for portable emergency heating systems for winter.
Prior to Ukraine, her careers, passion, and volunteer work centered around emergency management, vulnerable population assistance, and disaster response and recovery. She has over 10,000 hours of field work, including serving as an American Red Cross manager, coordinator, and volunteer; working as a disaster preparedness federal contractor at the U.S. Capitol complex and the Pentagon; and deploying for months at a time as a FEMA reservist to approximately ten large-scale disasters.
Her volunteer background spans more than 20 humanitarian organizations—American, Tajik, and international—addressing post-disaster and wartime emergency needs, housing repair and rebuilds, shelter operations and management, logistics, chaplaincy, and crisis care. She has also served as an emergency medical technician (EMT) in the DC Metro Area and as a summer camp lead in post-earthquake Haiti in 2010. Additionally, she dedicated nearly three years to pro bono work in Tajikistan over five trips spanning 11 years, serving as a liaison, consultant, and partner with the Red Crescent, the Aga Khan Foundation, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and numerous other nonprofits and agencies on local, national, and international levels.
