High Strength, Low Cost, and Community-Led Fabrications
Roof architecture in Ukraine must overcome two massive engineering bottlenecks: extreme winter snow loads in northern regions and wartime aireal strikes throughout the nation. The Invincible Community Arch Truss is a highly efficient, open-span structural framework designed to be built quickly and simply by local communities using standard, locally available timber here in Kyvska Oblast north of the capital.
By creating curved, peak-to-foundation arches (spreading the weight-bearing load evenly throughout the span) rather than complex webbed trusses (inherently weaker) this design transforms local wood into an incredibly strong, roof-and-wall system capable of supporting heavy solar arrays and thick snow blankets, while providing greater resistance to falling debris. Recycled metal sheets (one of the most common salvageable items from war debris) can often provide a quick and potentially free roofing system proven to withstand explosions better than most other roofing materials.

As we scale this model, we recognize that a steel-framed arch truss is structurally superior in many ways. A precision-engineered light-gauge or structural steel frame offers unparalleled longevity, is entirely fireproof, and can handle massive structural loads with even thinner profiles.
